Happy Halloween!

I never have been big into Halloween but it's always fun to dress up for a night and little kids in costumes is just downright adorable. Plus, there's free candy. This year I was asked by a friend to make her newborn son a Yoda hat for his costume. For those of you who don't know who Yoda is... well that's an entirely different issue but here is a picture for reference.
I found several different patterns on Pinterest and decided I was up to the challenge. I started with this pattern for 0-3 month old hat size. I use this pattern almost every time I make a hat because she has every size I need. I decided not to add the earflaps and ties but for the kid who likes to take off his hat you might want to use those. I then started to use this pattern for the ears but they were much to large for a newborn hat and were more for a young child. I did some handy math and strategic guessing and altered the pattern to the size I needed. I have included it below for those who would like to make this for a baby. Then I just sewed the ears on and voila! I think it came out quite nicely.
And Baby Asher just looks adorable as Yoda. I can't wait to see what Star Wars characters his sisters will be dressed up as!
